Geneva Train Station Transfers to the French Alps

Coming to the Alps by rail? Montivo picks up at Geneva Cornavin, the main station in the city centre, and drives you privately to your chalet or hotel in the French Alps. The station is a few kilometres from the airport, so drive times are close to the airport ones: about an hour and a half to Chamonix or Megeve, around two and a half hours to Courchevel or Meribel. Why arrive by train

TGV Lyria trains run from Paris to Geneva Cornavin, and Swiss rail connections arrive there from the rest of Switzerland. From London you can take the Eurostar to Paris and change stations there for the Lyria. The reasons people choose the train are practical ones: no airport queues, no waiting at a baggage belt for the ski bags, and luggage that stays with you for the whole journey rather than disappearing at check-in.

Meeting your driver at Cornavin

When you book, give us the train you are taking and its arrival time at Geneva Cornavin. The pick-up is planned around that arrival, and your driver meets you at the station. If your travel plans change after you have booked, tell us the new train as early as you can.

This service is for Cornavin, in the city centre. If you are flying in to Geneva instead, book the transfer from Geneva Airport, which is a separate pick-up.

How the price is worked out

One price covers the vehicle and everyone in it, up to eight passengers in Standard or seven in VIP, the higher-specification option. A party too large for one vehicle is priced as the number of vehicles needed. You pay by card at booking, and the price shown is the price charged. Rates differ between weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays, because a Saturday transfer takes longer; a return is two legs, each at the rate for its own day.

What is included

Door-to-door service from the station to your accommodation, tolls and fuel, and child seats at no extra charge when you ask for them at booking with the children’s ages. Declare skis, snowboards and oversized luggage when you book, so that a vehicle with room for them is sent.

How long the drive takes

From the station, in good conditions, allow about an hour and a half for Megeve and Chamonix, and between an hour and a half and an hour and three quarters for Morzine and Avoriaz. Courchevel and Meribel are about two and a half hours away; Val Thorens, Tignes and Val d’Isere are three hours or more. The first part of every transfer is the short run through Geneva to the French motorways, and Saturday traffic and snow in the mountains add to all of these times.

Crossing into France

Cornavin is on the Swiss side of the border, so a transfer to any French resort crosses into France. Keep passports or identity cards to hand in the vehicle, as you would for any border crossing.
