Geneva is the main gateway to the French Alps: most resorts in the Tarentaise are between two and three and a half hours away, and the Chamonix valley is closer to ninety minutes. How the price works

You pay per vehicle, not per person. One price covers your whole group up to the capacity of the vehicle, so a family of six pays what a couple pays on the same route. Standard carries up to eight passengers, VIP up to seven in a higher specification vehicle, and larger groups are priced as the number of vehicles needed.

Weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays are priced differently. Saturday is changeover day across the Alps: nearly every chalet and apartment swaps guests on the same day, the valley roads fill up, and a transfer that takes two and a half hours midweek can take considerably longer. The Saturday rate reflects the extra time the vehicle and driver are committed for, not an arbitrary surcharge.

Meeting your driver

We monitor your flight, so the pickup follows the aircraft rather than the schedule you booked against. Your driver meets you inside the terminal and walks you to the vehicle – which matters at Geneva in January with a trolley of ski bags.

Geneva airport straddles the border and has both a Swiss and a French exit. Tell us your flight number and airline when booking and the driver will be on the correct side.

What is included

Door-to-door service to the address you give us, flight monitoring, meet and greet, all tolls and fuel, and child seats at no extra charge when you request them at booking. The price you are shown is the price charged: there is no fuel supplement, no per-bag fee at the door and no surprise on the day.

Declare skis, snowboards and oversized luggage when you book. This is not about charging more, it is about sending a vehicle that fits eight people and their equipment.

How long the drive takes

Chamonix and Megeve are about an hour and a half. Courchevel and Meribel are around two and a half hours. Val Thorens, Tignes and Val d’Isere are three hours or more, because the last hour of each is a climb rather than a road. Those are good-conditions figures; snow and Saturday traffic both add to them, and your driver plans for that rather than discovering it.

Geneva or Lyon?

For the Tarentaise resorts, Lyon Saint-Exupery is worth comparing. It is further in kilometres but almost entirely motorway, so journey times are close, and it is calmer at Saturday changeover with no border to cross. If the flights work, it is a genuine alternative rather than a fallback.
