Cancellations and Refunds
Cancel a booking before the transfer and we keep 30 EUR and refund the rest. No sliding scale, no percentage of the fare, no deadline to beat. This page explains that and the two cases it does not cover.
Cancelling a booking
We keep 30 EUR and refund everything else. That is the whole rule, and it applies whenever written notice of cancellation reaches us before the transfer – three months ahead or the evening before, the answer is the same.
The 30 EUR is not a penalty and it is not a percentage of the fare. Card payments cost us a fee when they are taken and the fee is not returned when the money is refunded, so a cancelled booking leaves us out of pocket before anyone has driven anywhere. The 30 EUR covers that and the paperwork, and nothing more. It is deducted from the refund.
How to cancel
Send it in writing to info@montivotransfers.com with your booking reference. A phone call alone does not cancel a booking. If you need documentation for a travel insurance claim, ask and we will issue a statement of cancellation showing what was paid.
Changing a date or a time
Tell us in writing as soon as you know. Where a booking has already been confirmed, a change to the date or time may have to be handled as a cancellation of the original booking and a new booking at the applicable price, so the cancellation terms above can apply. In practice we will always try to move a booking rather than cancel it.
A return booking
A return transfer is two journeys on one booking. Cancel one leg and the other stands; the 30 EUR is charged once, not twice.
Delayed, cancelled or missed flights
We monitor your flight, and a delayed arrival simply moves the pickup. Tell us the flight number when you book so we are watching the right aircraft. The driver waits an hour from the moment the aircraft lands at no charge, and passport control and baggage reclaim happen inside that hour – the full rule is in the terms and conditions.
If your flight is cancelled or missed and you will not arrive in time for the transfer as booked, the transfer is treated as missed and is not refundable. We will make every effort to fit you onto the next available transfer, though you may have to wait. Where we cannot accommodate the new arrival time, you will need to make other arrangements. This is the situation travel insurance exists for, and it is worth checking what your policy covers.
If lost luggage delays you significantly at the airport, tell us as soon as you know. A delay of around two hours may mean the original transfer is cancelled and a new one scheduled, which is charged as a new transfer.
No-shows
If we cannot contact you and the transfer cannot be delivered, or you do not use a confirmed booking, the full booking cost remains payable.
If we cannot deliver
If for a reason within our control we cannot get you to your confirmed destination, we arrange suitable alternative transport. If we cancel a booking ourselves, you are refunded in full and the 30 EUR is not retained. We are not liable for delays outside our control – weather, road closures, traffic and similar – which in the Alps in winter is not a theoretical category. Building a sensible margin into your travel plans, particularly on departure day, is the best protection.
Refund timing
Approved refunds are returned to the card used for the booking. Card refunds usually take a few working days to appear, depending on your bank.
The full and binding terms, including luggage, child seats, conduct and liability, are in the terms and conditions.
Common questions
How much do I get back if I cancel?
Everything except 30 EUR, whenever you cancel before the transfer. There is no deadline to beat and no percentage of the fare. The 30 EUR covers the card fees charged on the payment and on the refund, which the card company does not return.
Is there a cut-off after which I get nothing back?
No. Cancel the evening before and the answer is the same as cancelling in October. What is not refunded is a no-show, or a transfer missed because of a cancelled flight – neither of those is a cancellation.
My flight was cancelled. Am I refunded?
A missed transfer caused by a cancelled or missed flight is not refundable, but we will try to move you to the next available transfer. Check your travel insurance.
How do I cancel?
Email info@montivotransfers.com with your booking reference. It has to be in writing.
Can I change the date instead of cancelling?
Ask us. We will always try to move the booking rather than cancel it, though a confirmed booking may have to be rebooked at the applicable price.
